Pots and pans come in all shapes and sizes. Many pots have long handles making them difficult to store in small kitchens. The one below is from All-Clad and is an excellent choice if you have the storage space.
There are specialty pots like double boilers, pots with built in strainers and even pots specifically designed for poaching eggs. Unless you are cooking elaborate recipes or running a bed and breakfast, you probably only need pots for boiling, steaming, frying and sauteing.
When sailing, we used pots specifically designed for camping. Some come with non-stick surfaces but the best part is they nest together in a nice, small bundle. There is a detachable “Cool” handle which means the handle doesn’t get hot and the handle is interchangeable for use with all the pots in the set.
